As a new school, we often field hundreds of questions from prospective parents, students, and professionals in education. Here are some of our most frequently asked questions and their answers:

How can I get my young person into The Delores Taylor Arthur School for Young Men?
We participate in the NOLA-PS Common Application Process. Please be certain that you have registered for the process through enrollnolaps.org and list The Delores Taylor Arthur School as your first choice. Our number is 621.

What does it mean when you say that you have a male-focused mission?
Our research has demonstrated and confirmed that there is a need for schools that are designed to meet the specific intellectual, social and emotional needs of males. Our mission is to meet those needs. Even with that understanding, our admission process does not discriminate based upon gender.

What are the dates for the Main Round of the Common Application Process?
The current round of placement ends on January 21, 2022.

What are the school day hours?
The school hours for the 2021-22 school year are 8:00-3:30

What are your class sizes?
Our student-to-staff ratio is no greater than 10-to-1 which allows for each student to get the individualized attention they need.

Do I have to live in Orleans Parish in order for my child to attend The Arthur School?
Yes. We are a Type 1 charter school that is authorized by NOLA Public Schools so each student must live in Orleans Parish.

Do you provide transportation to and from The Arthur School?
The Arthur School is a public charter school and charges no tuition. The expenses for families are related to purchasing uniforms, certain extracurriculars, and activities. Any family that has a hardship should contact the President/CEO for assistance.

What is the tuition?

What courses are offered in the 9th Grade?
Each student will take English I, Algebra I or Algebra II, World Geography, Physical Science, Speech, and Physical Education. In addition, students will have enrichment opportunities in the arts and seminars for additional academic assistance, as necessary.

What courses are offered in the 10th Grade?
English II or English III, Algebra II or Geometry, World History, Biology, Speech, Physical Education, and Foreign Language.

What extracurricular activities are offered?
We plan to field athletic teams in basketball track, powerlifting and baseball in 2022-23. Other extra curricular activities include, band, debate, mock trail, chess and others according to interest.
