Progress

AIRMEN COMMUNICATION: 3/14/22

Happy Q4! We are thrilled to be entering the final quarter of instruction of our inaugural year. Here's what you need to know this week:

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES:

Yes, it's that time again. We will be hosting parents/guardians on our campus Wednesday, March 23rd from 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM to discuss the academic progress of your Airman. During this evening, you will receive your son's Q3 Report Card. You can reserve your preferred time in the spreadsheet below. Simply write your name/student's name in the time slot of your preference for each teacher you wish to meet with. Teachers will prioritize those who have designated their times. We will be checking the spreadsheet periodically and will confirm your times with you via email. Parking will be available in our Wisteria St. Lot. Please enter and check-in through the back entrance.

IDs:

It has come to our attention that many students no longer have their regulation ID cards that were distributed to them at the beginning of the school year. These ID cards are a bona fide piece of The Arthur School Uniform. Students are considered out of Dress Code without their ID. For safety reasons, it is incredibly important that students visibly wear their ID at all times while on campus. If your son's ID card has been lost or damaged, he may visit the Front Office for a new one. Each new ID print will cost a student $5. In some cases, students will be printed a new ID without immediate payment, but they will receive a bill for what is owed.

COVID-19:

Another successful week of testing! Out of the 9 Faculty Members and 24 Students participating, our population returned 0 positive results for COVID-19.

HOUSE SYSTEM UPDATE:

With Q3 complete, we are almost ready to announce our first ever Top House. As it stands, Russell House is in the lead with 1625 points. This comes after an at-the-buzzer adoption of a House Motto earning Russell House 1000 points. This effort was led by Prefect Ingram with assistance from former-Prefect Matthews. This addition of culture catapulted the House from the bottom to the top spot on our scoreboard. Final results will be revealed at the Q2/Q3 Academic Awards Ceremony set for early April. (Date TBD) Final results factor in each House Member's GPA. No individual grades are revealed through the House System. For more on this, visit the House Scoreboard page of our school's website.

As this month is also Women's History Month, in House Meetings our students are discussing the struggles and accomplishments of Women throughout History. The Delores Taylor Arthur School is proud to celebrate Women's History. Especially, as a school with a male-focused mission, we would be remiss if we didn't educate our young men to understand and empathize with issues and factors that affect women in our society.

Have a great week all!
